# Download Asset

The way to get an asset's original file: `raw_url` is a signed link (\~24h) to the uploaded file, byte for byte, whereas `display_url`, `thumbnails` and image `permalink`s are re-encoded renders. Each call counts against the monthly quota, so fetch it when you need the file, not to display an image.
